IV hydration is not emergency care
Confusion, fainting, chest pain, hot dry skin or a temperature of 103°F or higher can mean heat stroke. Call 911.
Who may need a different plan
People with heart failure, kidney disease or certain other conditions may not be good candidates. Your screening covers this before any IV is placed.
